The Festival of Lights & the Non-Miracle of the Water

12/20/2014

Several members of the Tea Adventurers' Guild were sitting with a Dear Friend after a wonderful meal and were enjoying a resplendent cup of tea (not unlike our Happy Chanukah Herbal). Our Friend was taking great relish in telling us the story of the Rededication of the Temple and the Miracle of the Oil, which is, he explained, why Chanukah is also referred to as the Festival of Lights.
Suddenly, his Wife burst in asking us how our tea was. We responded that it was excellent, but expressed some confusion about her excitement. She explained that they had only enough water for one cup of tea, but somehow, it made eight! We were all very excited and asked her how this could be true! Her response was laughter. "Don't be ridiculous." She then asked us to gather the children, as it was time to light the menorah, which we were quite honored to help with-- even if she was still laughing at us.

Lady Camellia Sinensis & The Tea Adventurers' Guild

The Third Lady, to be exact. One of mystery, adventure, tea, and civility. Though all members of the Tea Adventurers' Guild like to contribute from time to time.
